Eric Abraham

Eric Abraham received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1964, and his MFA from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 1969. He has taught at several universities and gives workshops detailing his techniques, influences and aesthetics. Eric's studio and gallery is a 6,000 square foot ex-auto dealership in Beautiful Downtown Lucas, Kansas.

Ronald Anderson was born in 1948 in Stomsburg, NE. He graduated with a BFAE from Wayne State College in 1971, and went on to get two masters, from Kansas State University in 1973 (MA, painting and drawing) and from the University of Nebraska in 1976 (MFA, painting and drawing). He currently resides in the Hudson Valley in New York.

Judith Andre uses glass to create expressive sculptures and plates, setting up a rhythm of color and form, texture and shape. Andre has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nebraska with an emphasis in ceramics. Deon Bahr of Lincoln, Neb., is the Founding Principal of Bahr Vermeer & Haecker Architects, Ltd. He received his Bachelor of Science in architecture from UNL in 1961. He has served as the president of the National Society of Architects and served as a critic/juror for the College of Architecture from 1983-2000. His artwork has been exhibited at Hayden Art Gallery, Sheldon Museum of Art, Modern Arts Midwest and The Sawmill Gallery.

Margaret Bohls is a studio potter and educator who lives and works in Lincoln, Nebraska. She is Assistant Professor of Ceramics in the Department of Art and Art History at UNL. She makes hand-built porcelain pottery and vessels that she shows and sells nationally. She received her BFA in 1989 from Rhode Island School of Design, and her MFA in 1995 from Louisiana State University.

Jan Christensen

Jan Christensen was born in Lincoln, NE and received her BFA from UN-L in 1971, after attending Massachusetts College of Art for her senior year. On scholarship from the Massachusetts Council on the Arts she received a Certificate in Arts Administration from the Harvard University School of Business in 1972. Her work was exhibited in the Discovery Room of the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography for more than 7 years, was part of a Kodak Colorama, published in the New York Art Review and FiberArts magazine, is included in the collections of Museum of Nebraska Art, Great Plains Art Museum, Pinnacle Bank, Seneca Paper Group, and is represented by Anderson O’Brien Fine Art (aobfineart.com).

Mike Farrell

After earning a Master's degree in Chicago at the Institute of Design, Mike Farrell moved to Lincoln, NE in 1972 to work at the Nebraska ETV Network. Farrell currently holds the position of Television Production Manager and Adjunct Faculty for the UNL College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Farrell's work is included in the collections of the Museum of Nebraska Art, the Joslyn Art Museum and the Great Plains Museum. He is a recipient of the Nebraska Arts Council's Individual Artist Fellowship.

Forde earned both his M.F.A. in art and his B.A. in English literature at the University of California-Santa Barbara. He taught at Cal State-Los Angeles from 1971 to 1985 and 1988 to 2004. He served as Chair of the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln from 2004 to 2011. "My work has been described as western imagery engulfed by urban graffiti. Marcia Goldenstein

Marcia Goldenstein received her M.F.A. degree in Painting at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She has taught drawing and painting at the University of Tennessee since 1976. Her teaching experience also extends to summer programs at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, TN and Summervail in Colorado and as a visiting artist at numerous institutions, including the National Academy of Fine Arts, Bratislava, Slovakia; Tudor Hall, Banbury, United Kingdom; Arts Council, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; University of Texas, San Antonio; and University of Indianapolis. Her paintings have appeared in many solo and invitational exhibitions in the United States, Europe and China and are included in a variety of museum, corporate and private collections.

Dan Howard

UNL Professor Emeritus Dan Howard is widely referred to as “Nebraska’s leading award-winning artist.” He was born in 1931 in Iowa City, Iowa and received both his BA and MFA from the University of Iowa. Howard chaired the departments of art at Arkansas State University and Kansas State University before joining the faculty of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and chairing the Department of Art from 1974-1983. He retired from UNL in 1996. His work is a part of more than 600 public, private and corporate collections.

Victoria Hoyt

Omaha, Nebraska native Victoria Hoyt earned her B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota. She has shown locally and regionally, including the Bemis Underground in Omaha, Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, and the lichen and Tugboat galleries here in Lincoln. Hoyt is in her third year as an MFA candidate at UNL, where she is also a co-founding member of the collaborative group UNL Womanhouse.

Karen Kunc

Karen Kunc received her BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1975, and her MFA from Ohio State University in 1977. She is a Cather Professor of Art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she has taught since 1983.

Kunc's works are represented in many public and private collections, including The Museum of Modern Art (NY), The Library of Congress, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, The National Museum of Women in the Arts, Walker Art Center, The New York Public Library and many more. Her works have been shown in more than 350 exhibits in the United States and in 25 nations. In 2007, Kunc received the prestigious Printmaker Emeritus Award at the 36th annual conference of The Southern Graphics Council.

Sydney Lynch

Since graduating with a BFA from the University of Colorado, and working in jewelry stores in Boulder, Colorado, Sydney Lynch has been a full time studio jeweler since 1980.  Working in a style that is both geometric and organic, her designs are primarily inspired by nature and are hand-fabricated in combinations of sterling silver and high-karat gold.   Sydney has exhibited annually at the American Crafts Council shows since 1983, and at other nationally recognized shows including SOFA, the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, the Smithsonian Craft Show, and the Sun Valley Arts and Crafts Festival.  Her work is represented at numerous galleries across the country. 

Sydney’s jewelry has been featured in Ornament Magazine, Jewelry Artist Magazine, and books including Contemporary American Jewelry Design by Ettagale Blauer,  Art Jewelry Today  by Dona Z. Meilach, Lark Books 500 Lockets and Pendants and Lark Books Jewelry Design Challenge.  In 2007, Sydney received the Mayor’s Arts Award for Artistic Achievement.

Lawrence McFarland

Lawrence McFarland received his BFA in Photography from Kansas City Art Institute in 1973, and his M.F.A. in Photography from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in, 1976. His work is included in dozens of public and private collections including Museum of Modern Art, New York, Sheldon Museum of Art, Spencer Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Los Angelas County Museum. McFarland was the recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship in 2010-11. He was a member of the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin from 1985-2003.  He is a self-employed artist in Austin Texas.

Deborah Murphy

Deborah Murphy was born in North Platte, Nebraska in 1950, and received her BA from Kearney State College in 1972. While Murphy is largely known as a landscape painter, her recent work shows architectural subjects with particulat interest on the effect of light and shadow. Her work is featured in over two dozen public and private collections including Great Plains Art Collection at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Museum of Nebraska Art at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, University of Nebraska-Omaha, Wayne State College, Wayne, NE, and Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE. Murphy is represented by galleries in Omaha, Lincoln, and Kansas City.

Peter Pinnell

Peter Pinnell made his living as a potter for twelve years before moving to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1995, where he is Hixson-Lied Professor of Ceramics and Interim Chair. In addition to his teaching, he has continued to exhibit widely. His work has appeared throughout the US, and in the Netherlands, South Africa, Japan, China, New Zealand, and Australia. In addition to his teaching and exhibition career, he has been an active writer on ceramic art, with articles in American and Australian ceramic journals, and a regular column, "As far as I know...", which appears in Clay Times Magazine.

Tom Prinz

Born in 1954, Thomas Prinz lives and works in Omaha, Nebraska. He is principal partner in ARC-STUDIO, which was established in 1990 to explore the disciplines of art and architecture. Prinz holds a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He has recently exhibited at Anderson O'Brien Fine Arts, Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, and Creighton University Lied Center for the Arts.

Susan Puelz

Susan Puelz was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska where she continues to reside. She recieved her BFA in art and MFA in painting from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln.

From 1984 to 2004 Ms. Puelz was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Art in watercolor, art history, design, and drawing at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. She has also been a visiting artist at Kansas State University, Oklahoma State University, and Arizona State University.

Since 1985 Ms. Puelz has participated in thirty-eight group exhibitions including "100 years of Nebraska Women Artists," Great Plains Art Museum, University of Nebraska, "Midwest Landscape as Subject and Symbol," Sioux City Art Center, and "Living Artists of Nebraska," Warsaw, Poland.

Ms. Puelz won the Mid America Arts Alliance and National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship Award in Painting. Other major awards have come from Watercolor U.S.A., Art Quest, Taos National Honors Exhibition, National Watercolor Society, and the Museum of Nebraska Art.

Her work is featured in "Plain Pictures: Images of the American Prairie," Joni L. Kinsey. She illustrated the covers for "Refuge at DeSoto Bend," Salmon Publishing, and "Natural Bridge: A journal for Contemporary Literature," University of Missouri. She is represented by Andersen O'Brien Fine Art.

Stacey Skold

Stacey Skold received her BFA in painting from Nebraska Wesleyan University and her MA in art history from the University of Kansas. Skold was Assistant Director of Thomas Mccormick Gallery and Curator of AEL Space in Chicago before working as Collections Manager at the Sheldon Museum of Art. She is currently working on her PhD in Textiles, Clothing, and Design at the University of Nebraska. Skold's paintings reflect her interest in textiles as she often incorporates printmaking techniques and hand stitching in her work. Her creative process involves constructing and deconstructing the paintings often removing the medium to achieve a rich surface area. These actions and reactions rely heavily on intuition and subsequent choices. Skold is represented by Anderson O'Brien Gallery, Omaha.

Francisco Souto was born in Venezuela, and received his BFA from the Herron School of Art in 2000, and his MFA from the Ohio State University in 2002. He has participated in a wide range of national and international exhibitions throughout the United States, Europe, Venezuela, Russia, Egypt and Japan. Significant exhibitions include: Latin American Contemporary Printmaking Masters, Italy, the 6th Kochi triennial exhibition of prints, Japan; the IV Novosibirsk International Biennial of Contemporary Graphic Art; Russia, the 5th British International Miniature Print Exhibition, UK; 12th International Print Biennial, Bulgaria; the Boston Printmakers 2003 North American Print Exhibition; Los Angeles Printmaking Society 18th National Exhibition, California. He is currently Associate Professor of Art at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
